How to Backup iPhone

iPhone is a mobile devices we carry almost everywhere and all the time. We have so many very important data and apps on the phone.

Some of my app(TapToCount-3W) users ask me how to back up data in this app. They have recorded many important data(taps with location, time, and notes). In case of lost or damage their iPhones, all those data would be gone. This is true since all the data are within the device, and they are not in cloud.

At the present time, there is no backup nor restore features in the app. This feature may be added to the app in future updates.

For the time being, here I strongly recommend users to do iPhone backup regularly. For example, you may add a repeat event, once a month, in your calendar to back up your iPhone on your personal computer, and remind you do it.

If you use Mac computer, the current macOS (Catalina ver 10.15.4)  provides a very easy way to back up your iPhone. The old Mac users may find iPhone back in iTunes app.

Connect your iPhone to Mac computer first. Then in Finder, you will find iPhone on the left panel. Click on this, you will find very easy way to back up your iPhone. This is also the place to restore your most recent back up to your iPhone.

Note: Apple only keeps the most recent back up on your Mac. Only one backup is kept there. Therefore, it is recommended to do it regularly, and back up before any new updates, travel or other important events.

If your Mac is older macOS than Catalina, the backup and restore are still through iTunes app.

If you are Windows users, I think you can download iTunes to do backup. Or you will find it out from Google Search.
