We're pleased to bring you TapMyNotes 2.4.1, with improved stability, smooth work flow and detailed information for creating a new tap record, smarter search, and a more intuitive experience for recording and preserving life's moments.
What's New
Smoother and Faster Tap Recording
The tap recording process now feels significantly smoother and more responsive. After you tap the Tap button, a clear prompt showing the new record’s location and note information appears immediately. You can then choose to continue editing the record or dismiss the prompt—no more brief blank-screen pauses or waiting.
Quick Navigation
The floating up/down button is back and better than ever. When a list grows beyond twice the number of visible rows, the button appears and lets you jump directly to the first or last row.
Quick navigation is also available in all other list views, providing a consistent and convenient way to move through long lists throughout the app.
Sound on Tap
A new “Play Clip Sound” setting lets you play a click sound whenever you create a tap record. It is off by default and can be enabled anytime in Settings.
Clearer In-App Help
Help information has been redesigned to make it easier to read and less distracting. Instead of previously long, expandable sections, you'll now find a simple info button in section headers and/or footers. Tap it to see clear, focused guidance in a prompt view.
This applies to edit and property views for Tap Entities, Tap Items, and Taps, making the app cleaner and more welcoming—especially for new users.
Better Example Data for New Users
First-time users now see a more generic and understandable set of example Tap Entities and Tap Items. These examples provide a clearer introduction to how TapMyNotes can help you organize and remember your life.
Improvements
Smarter Navigation
The navigation behind the First, Previous, Next, and Last buttons has been improved. While the buttons work the same as before, the underlying design is now more flexible and ready for future updates, including organizing records into sections.
Reordered Note Context Menu
Based on user feedback, “Edit” is now at the top of the note context menu for quicker access.
The menu order is now:
Edit · Copy · Copy 1st Line · Replace 1st Line (when available) · Clear All
Bug Fixes
Location Direction Improved
Improved heading calculation between nearby taps. When the taps are too close to provide a meaningful direction, considering their location accuracy, no heading information is shown.
Editing the Latest Tap Note
Fixed an issue where the “Latest Tap Note” action could select the last tap shown in the search results instead of the actual latest tap. Now, whether search is on or off, “Latest Tap Note” always opens the tap with the most recent tap date for the selected Tap Item.
Fixed Some Crash Issues
Improved app stability by fixing issues that could cause unexpected crashes.
Cleanup
Removed unused files and code to keep TapMyNotes leaner and easier to maintain.Thank you for using TapMyNotes! We hope these updates make your experience smoother and more enjoyable.
